65754 ZIEGLER RUG

Description

Unlike most rugs, the Zieglar is a name of a design, rather than a city. Its name started in 1883 from a German company named Zieglar and Co. based in Manchester, England.  Back then they were only made in Arak, Iran. Now you can find Zieglar rugs made anywhere in Iran, as well as India and Pakistan. Also called "Chobi" or "Peshawar".  The Zieglar rug has a modest knot count of 80-120 knots in handspun Ghazni or Himalayan wool. It is constructed well and very durable usually made with gentler or softer tones and patterns.
