The nomadic Turkomans weavers are known around the world for their distinct weaving style.  With dominant reds and wine colors throughout with repeated blue or black or ivory gul print motifs, these rugs tend to be small to medium sized. Its rare to find a large carpet by the Turkmen.  The wool used in these gorgeous rugs is soft and the pile is usually cut thin.  The knot count typically ranges between 20-120 knots per square inch, but you can find some really fine examples here at Ruby Rugs.
