66407 GABBEH MODERN RUG

Originally these designs came from the Qashqai nomads tribal weavers in the Zagros mountains. The gabbeh rug is loved all around the world and known for its tribal and contemporary looks.  This beautifully made rug is from India. However, the Kurds, Lurs and Bhaktiaris were also known to have designed these beautiful rugs.  The Persian word “gabbeh” means raw or natural and implies a rug that is more tribal, and coarsely knotted.  This is in part what gives them their exquisite charm.  Gabbehs come is a variety of colors and styles, made with handspun wool and natural dyes.  Their style usually demonstrates geometric, tribal, wildlife and even some floral patterns.  The gabbeh will add old world glamour and modern style to any room.
