The Bakhtiari rugs were woven by tribal villagers and nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The patterns of these beautiful tribal rugs are mainly geometric, with very dense vibrant colors. You will usually find deep reds, strong blues, dominant navy, green, brown and beige. One of the most common Bakhtiari designs is called the “Garden Design”. This geometric design consists of hexagon, rectangular, square or diamond areas with floral motives. Its not uncommon to see a willow or cypress tree, a grapevine, vase or a bird sitting on a branch.
