Named after the city of Heriz in North West Iran, these iconic rugs are popular in most rug stores. Heriz rugs are very informal using bright primary colors. Often with a large central medallion, Heriz area rugs are woven with the Turkish knot by the village Azeri people. Its easy to find plant, vine, repeating lattice designs, flower motifs as well as medallions. Loosely knotted from 40 to 100 knots per inch, they are more informal and primitive in their design. Hand spun wool and natural dyes.
