The word Nooristan translates to “land of illumination”, one of the 34 provinces found in Eastern Afghanistan. The Nooristan peoples are known as excellent crafts people who have mastered the art of weaving. They are also considered descendants of the armies of Alexander the Great. Ruby Rugs Nooristan  Silver Wash rugs are very fine quality carpets made with gorgeous natural dyes and 100% handspun wool.  We call it a silver wash due to their muted look.
