If you talk to anyone from Turkey who loves oriental rugs, they will all know the ancient beauty of the Mamluk rug.  Its epic history starts with commissions from the Mamluk sultans of the 13^th to 16^th centuries Egyptian empire where Islamic art flourished.  Geometric star designs and patterns were born from this era, which is the main and most stunning characteristic of this rug.  These truly wonderful pieces of art have lovely sheen and natural abrash, made with handspun wool and natural dyes.  Made in Pakistan.
