Otherwise known as the Qashqai saddlebag, the Khorjin rug exhibits magnificent craftsmanship. The Turkish speaking Qashquis are mostly located in the Cars Province of southwest Iran. As pastoral nomads, they move with their flocks of sheep and goats from summer to winter near the Zagros mountains. The original Khorjin rug usually displays the “diamond of life” motif or diamond like elements as well as stripes or geometric animals or flowers. The Qashqai weavers are known for their deep attention to detail, which is why many collectors love them dearly. These gorgeous tribal rugs are sure to bring beauty to the home. 100% handspun wool on a cotton foundation.
