Aryana is the ancient name for Afghanistan and parts of Persia, Beluchistan and central Asia. It also describes exquisite beauty in area rugs.  The original Aryana rug was geometric and woven by nomadic Turkish and Mogul tribes. Today, we see these rugs in both geometric and curvelinear patterns. Characterized by beautiful handspun wool and natural dyes such as walnut husk, indigo, kesuphul, ousparak and pomegranate, these rugs shine.  Another characteristic of these beautiful area rugs is the soft “abrashness” in the wool, which shows a slight variation of color.
